Burdekin Woodcrafts Association Inc. Recently I met Dianna Jones, President of the Burdekin Woodcrafts Association and discovered a treasure trove of products and an extraordinary number of multi-talented members who demonstrated their talents from woodturning to pyrography, toy making, furniture making, carving, and wood turning bowls. Each item is unique and worth a look. [And I didnt leave empty handed]. They are located at the Club Workshop at Little Drysdale Street, Ayr, North Queensland. The Club Workshops are held Tuesday 7 - 9 pm, and there will be Workshops scheduled throughout the year. Keep your eyes open for their new website where you may have the opportunity to make purchases of these unique woodwork items. Best wishes to Dianne and the team.

31.3.2012 I attended the 50th Qld Law Society Symposium and was fortunate enough to ask Erin Brockovich a question on her recent visit to Australia. The questions was: "If you could leave one message for your Australian Environmental Supporters, what would it be?" She replied "Speak up, Speak Out. You may be wrong, but what if you are right?" Erin reported that there is a film coming out and being launched in the US on 4th May 2012, called "Last Call at the Oasis", and she is arranging for it to be premiered in Australia after that. The article was submitted for inclusion into the next edition of the Women's Network Association Magazine. Stay tuned for more.

www.kingscanyonresort.com.au - A must see location for that suits all travellers budgets. Conferences and very special occasions as well. Thanks to APT for such a great tour. On the way there's also the Kings Creek Station (an outback cattle property). Check it out. Check out Ayers Rock Resort at Yulara in the Northern Territory. www.voyages.com.au

Kings Canyon is a remarkable formation. APT's very capable driver Garry ensured that we had rest breaks and gave a very informed commentary on the terrain and the history of the region. The helicopter tour of the rim was fantastic. Thanks Richard. Great pilot by the way. Next morning we began the 6 kilometre walk that required a degree of fitness took us through to the Lost City and the Garden of Eden. If you haven't been to Kings Canyon then ensure that you do. The seclusion is undescribable. An incredible history behind its beginnings.

This was one of the best ever. The early start was invigorating. We drove early with APT to the base site to watch the sun come up over one of the world's natural wonders. APT had the table set up ready for our morning coffee. There were people from all over the world competing for the best location for their photos and home movies. Go to the website for the photo series that will go up and change regularly. Then APT took us to the Kata Tjunta (Olgas) and the Walpa Gorge. |

Uluru Base Tour and Sunset Drinks at Ayers Rock Resort arranged by APT or Australian Pacific Touring (1800 891 121) was just amazing. They meet you at Ayers Rock Airport, transfer you to your destination (mine was Outback Pioneer). You enter Ulur-Kata Tjuta National Park and tour the waterhole of Mutitjulu. Then you take a guided Mala Walk, visiting traditional sites and learing about the region's flora and geology. The complimentary glass of wine as you sit and watch the sunset - the changing colours is incredible. This was followed by the Aussie Barbecue. Thanks APT and especially our driver Garry, who took us on this fabulous journey.
